Promoting better understanding of Europe among our young citizens

About Us

The Scottish European Educational Trust is a non-political charity, established in 1993. It aims to promote and encourage education about Europe to students at schools, colleges and universities throughout Scotland.

As a small charitable organisation, the Scottish European Educational Trust funds its projects primarily through grant fundraising, which is complemented by the contributions of a number of individual supporters and our ongoing fundraising activities. This year (2015/16) the Scottish European Educational Trust is grateful for donations received from or pledged by the following organisations, Trusts and Foundations:

- Baldoukie Charitable Trust

- Binks Trust

- The Cruden Foundation

- The Educational Institute of Scotland

- The European Commission

- The European Parliament

- The Moffat Charitable Trust

- The Robertson Trust

- The Scottish Government

In addition, SEET is grateful for support in kind from:

- Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh

- SCILT, Scotland's National Centre for Languages

- Young Scot

Current activities include:

  • A national Euroquiz for primary school pupils
  • European film making project for secondary school pupils
  • Get Set Go volunteering project

"Europe and our membership of the European Union are currently topics of much debate. It is therefore important that we encourage our young people to learn more about European countries and SEET does this in ways that catch their interest.

At this time, promoting better understanding of Europe among our young citizens is a sound investment for the future.”
