SEET is running an event to coincide with the Edinburgh International Film Festival which will kick off on June 19. Students who were involved in the Our Europe film competition, an innovative project funded by the European Parliament and Scottish Government and supported by Radio Lingua, will get to showcase their films at the Edinburgh Filmhouse on Thursday 13 June. Teams from all secondary schools in Scotland were invited to take part in this competition with the opportunity of winning an iPad for their school and a trip to Brussels. Teams were asked to create a short film to raise awareness of the positive impact of the European Parliament on the lives of young people in the EU. The competition was organised over three stages and has been designed to offer young people the opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding of Europe, increase their use of European languages, and gain a range of transferable skills through the creative process. The screening will showcase the six semi-finalist European short films created by Scottish students.
Guests are asked to arrive from 4.30 PM for refreshments with a 5.30 PM showcase.
