Our Europe Premiere and Awards Ceremony!

Our Europe Premiere and Awards Ceremony!

On Monday 27th March all the teams behind this year’s wonderful films came together with their friends, family, teachers and classmates at the Scottish Parliament for the Our Europe Premiere and Awards Ceremony.

The event was a great success with over 110 people in attendance, all collectively celebrating the work of our young people throughout the project. Teams gave presentations, talked about their experience and screened their films for the very first time. The event was kindly sponsored by Joan McAlpine MSP with guest speakers including Gillian Campbell Thow (Glasgow City Council), Louise Geln (Education Scotland), Harald Proell (European Parliament Information Office) and Mark Johnson (Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Relations Committee). Last year’s team from St Roch’s Seconday, who won the Peer Choice Award in 2015 -16, also returned to give a presentation about their progress since participating and to discuss the different ways in which the project benefited them.
The Winners of the awards were:

St Roch’s Secondary – Award for Acting
St Luke’s High School – Creative Content Award
Dalziel High School – Factual Content Award
Perth Grammar School – Award for Editing
Balfron High School – Award for Languages
St Thomas Aquinas – Peer Choice Award

We were delighted with how the event went and, in case you missed it, the films are all now up online! View them in our video gallery we promise you won’t be disappointed!
