Euroquiz CLPL

Are you looking for IDL and language learning opportunities for your pupils? Are you committed to building outward-looking, engaged citizens? Look no further than SEET’s Euroquiz project.

The Scottish European Educational Trust (SEET) run language learning and global citizenship projects for children and young people across Scotland. This CLPL session take a deeper look at Euroquiz, an annual project for P6 pupils. The Euroquiz project is open to all P6 pupils across Scotland and sees teams of four working together to broaden their knowledge of Europe and the wider world. Subjects covered include languages, history, geography, sport, culture and European affairs. Heats take place in local authorities from February to April, with the winning teams from all areas progressing to the National Euroquiz Final held in the Debating Chamber of the Scottish Parliament in June. Euroquiz creates an enthusiasm for learning, developing pupils' ability to work in teams and communicate effectively, ultimately increasing their confidence and range of core skills.

This session, aimed at primary school teachers, looks at Euroquiz in more detail, discussing its educational benefits and its ability to aid young people on their way to meeting the principal aims of the CfE.
