This page is meant to make the initial stages of Our World: Juniors as easy as possible for teachers, pupils and parents. Here you'll find everything you need to run Our World in your school, including a ‘virtual school visit’ and some useful downloadable links, including storyboarding tips, templates and examples. CLPL 1: Introduction

This CLPL session (aimed at teachers who haven’t participated before) provides an overview of the Our World project, and hopefully answers any questions you may have. It was recorded on Tuesday 12th September 2023.


School Visits 2023-24

You can sign up for an online school visit for 2023-24 on Microsoft Teams or Google Meet by emailing alex@seet.org.uk and indicating the year group, the size of the group, and providing a few possible dates which could work for you.

Below are the resources that were used in the 2022-23 school visits. They will be updated in the coming weeks.

We have provided a downloadable blank storyboard template here. If you're unsure about how a completed storyboard should look you can find an example here. You can use as many templates as you need, but remember that your film should be no longer than 3 minutes!

CLPL 2 - Our World in the Classroom

CLPL 2: Our World in the Classroom

This session on 26th September 2023 was aimed at all Our World 2023-24 teachers, and covered the following requested topics (as well as some more general information about running Our World).

- Basic screen education support.
- How to storyboard.
- Why do we storyboard?
- How to teach storyboarding so pupils can do it themselves.
- How to make the procedure of storyboard more effective and fun.
- Ideas on how to guide pupils in the creative process.

One of our filmmaking team Alasdair gives some of his ideas on story development and including a second language in your Our World film.

Storyboarding

These tutorials give our filmmaker Tim’s ideas on how to create an effective film storyboard.


Editing with Tablets

  • Click here for a tutorial on how to use iMovie (our recommended app for Our World film editing). At Our World workshops, pupils will use new 2023 model iPads.

  • Click here for a tutorial on how to use Kinemaster (our recommended app for Android). This is a good option for people participating from Our World from home, or those who want to do some practice / make films at home.
